Recently, in computer class, we all created a podcast about copyright infringement and piracy. When creating this podcast with my group, we chose not to use someone else's photo or music. We took our own photo and we used a pre-downloaded jingle that came with the program we were using which was only about 30 seconds long. You can see this podcast by clicking on this link:
Piracy Podcast. We also learned a lot about piracy and copyright infringement while in the process of creating this podcast. Some people may have different views on topics than others. One of my views is, downloading music isn't wrong if you purchase it, only if you illegally download it. Another is I feel like copyright laws should exist. I feel this way because without them, people would just illegally download stuff and artists and their workers wouldn't get paid for all of the hard work they are putting in. Even though people still do it today, some get caught and it still doesn't make it right just because people are doing it. My last view on this topic is why piracy is so prevalent in todays society. I feel like it is because it is out there, in the web, and it is free so people may feel as though 'if it is free, why should I pay for it?' Also, if someone took my graphic or podcast without my permission I would be angry. It's not right and it is stealing.
