Picture Perfect

Recently, we used Photoshop to make ourselves look like a star. This is what some magazine editors do to celebrity photos in order to make them look "perfect." The picture that I created makes me feel like it is unrealistic. I feel like this picture is of Barbie who is very fake and is a plastic doll. I changed so much in order to make the photo look flawless. This just goes to show that no one is perfect and we all have flaws and we should just deal with it. This greatly changes my perspective of magazine pictures because I always thought they were real and just barley retouched. Little did I know that the photos were greatly retouched and only a small portion of the photo was real. This would tell us that to have the "perfect body image" that you have to be tan, have flawless skin, be skinny, and be considered pretty by many. I think I did really well on whitening my teeth and also making my skin look flawless. One thing I could improve on is matching our skin tones better because you can still barley see where they do not match. Another thing I can work on is applying makeup and making it look more natural and less painted on. The original photo chan be be found on: Selena Gomez

A Day in the Life of a Mercy Girl Collage

In most of my photos in my collage, I mainly used the rule of thirds. This is when the main part of the picture is on one of the horizontal lines. I also used simplicity which focuses on one specific thing and doesn’t have a lot in the background and is very plain. One of the Photoshop tools I used was the red eye tool. By using this tool, you can eliminate the red eye even after the photo has been taken. Another Photoshop tool I used was the blemish tool. If someone has acne or anything on their face or their body you can use this tool to erase it. These are both very useful tools that are not completely necessary but can help improve your photos.
More Photoshop tools I used in my collage were cropping. I used the cropping tool to cut out unwanted things in my picture in order to improve my picture and have a main focus. This is very useful and important in order to display the photography element of simplicity. Another Photoshop tool I used is resizing my photos. This is important because if you didn’t resize your picture, then they all wouldn’t fit or you just might want them to be a certain size. The last tool that I used is changing the color of photos. This is both important and useful because if you put a picture in black and white, you may realize different elements of the picture rather than if it was in color. These are all basic and important tools of Photoshop.
