Flash Ad Banner
Recently, we learned how to use Flash, a computer program that has many different uses. One thing you can do with Flash is create an ad banner. I made an ad banner myself advertising my gardening center. This would be useful to a website because it would help draw people's attention to what you are trying to advertise. Not only is very catchy, but it is also very creative and easy to do.
Some of the tools I used in Photoshop were:
1. The dodge tool which makes the photo brighter in certain spots.
2. The sponge tool which helps to focus more on certain aspects of the photo.
3. The crop tool which helps take off sides of the picture to make it smaller and take off edges.
4. I used the clone tool on some of the flowers to delete some of the weeds and replace them with flowers from another part of the photo.
5. I also used the color change tool to change the background color.
6. I changed the Hue/ Saturation tool to alter the color of some photos.
7. The last tool I used was the brightness tool to make the picture look better.
Flash tools that I used were:
1. The text tool to insert text to my banner.
2. I also used the symbol tool in order to make a symbol.
3. I used the motion tween to make the words on my banner move.
4. I also changed to color, font, and size of text.
I created this banner in order to advertise my gardening center. I used the photos that I did on the banner because it what my gardening center sells. the audience of my banner is anyone who likes to go outside and garden. So generally, this would be middle-aged adults. I hope you enjoy it!

How to Create a Mosaic
Here are the steps to creating a mosaic on Photoshop: 1. Choose one main photo and two to three other photos
2. Use the rectangular marquee to crop the persons face out of the main photo.
3. Now go to the image menu and press crop.
4. Now we are going to crop the other photos. Use the crop tool (not the rectangular marquee tool) to crop the other faces of the photos. The size you crop these photos are going to depend on the size of the main photo.
5. Next, when the crop tool is selected, go up to the options bar and make the height and width 50 px (pixels).
6. Now that everything is set, you want to make a box around the other pictures of just the face. Do this to the rest of your photos except the main one which has already been completed in step two.
7. Next, go to the file menu, and click new. We are creating a new document that is twice the height and width of the photos we just cropped. So we want to make the height and width 100 x 100. Also make sure the resolution for the document is the same as it was for the photos you previously cropped.
8. Now click the move tool and move one of your photos (not the main photo) to the new document that you just created. Do this with your other photos but still not the main one. You should have a total of four photos, filling the whole document.
9. Next, flatten the image. This should be the new document that you created.
10. Go to the image menu and click on adjustments and then click desaturate. This will make the photos black and white.
11. Now we have to make this image a pattern. You can do this by going to the edit menu and clicking on the define pattern. This brings up the pattern name dialogue box. You can name the pattern whatever you want. Then press okay.
12. Now you can go back to the main photo. Click on the new layer icon at the bottom of the layers palette. This will make a new layer.
13. Fill in the new layer with the pattern you just created. Do this by going to the edit menu and click on fill. Select the use option to pattern, then click the down arrow and click on the photo pattern you just created.
14. Then at the bottom of the fill dialogue box, make sure the blending mode is set to normal and the opacity is set to 100%.
15. Now in the layers palette, make the blend mode set to overlay. If the pattern is a little too intense, change the blend mode to soft light rather than overlay. Or you can also change the opacity.

Logo Project
Recently, we learned about how businesses represent their companies through logos. There is a wide variety of logos ranging from very simple to very complex. My logo communicates its purpose because it tells you what the club is and shows you the equipment that is used for playing. I chose the colors because they are all a form of blue and blue is one of our school colors. I used lines to make straight lines so that I wouldn't have to free hand them therefore they would be straight. I used the shape tool to make the ball because in real life, the ball is a perfect sphere. The last tool I used is repetition. I made one lacrosse stick and I used a tool so that I could get the exact lacrosse stick so they would look the exact same and be the same size.

Picture Perfect
Recently, we used Photoshop to make ourselves look like a star. This is what some magazine editors do to celebrity photos in order to make them look "perfect." The picture that I created makes me feel like it is unrealistic. I feel like this picture is of Barbie who is very fake and is a plastic doll. I changed so much in order to make the photo look flawless. This just goes to show that no one is perfect and we all have flaws and we should just deal with it. This greatly changes my perspective of magazine pictures because I always thought they were real and just barley retouched. Little did I know that the photos were greatly retouched and only a small portion of the photo was real. This would tell us that to have the "perfect body image" that you have to be tan, have flawless skin, be skinny, and be considered pretty by many. I think I did really well on whitening my teeth and also making my skin look flawless. One thing I could improve on is matching our skin tones better because you can still barley see where they do not match. Another thing I can work on is applying makeup and making it look more natural and less painted on. The original photo chan be be found on: Selena Gomez

A Day in the Life of a Mercy Girl Collage
In most of my photos in my collage, I mainly used the rule of thirds. This is when the main part of the picture is on one of the horizontal lines. I also used simplicity which focuses on one specific thing and doesn’t have a lot in the background and is very plain. One of the Photoshop tools I used was the red eye tool. By using this tool, you can eliminate the red eye even after the photo has been taken. Another Photoshop tool I used was the blemish tool. If someone has acne or anything on their face or their body you can use this tool to erase it. These are both very useful tools that are not completely necessary but can help improve your photos.
More Photoshop tools I used in my collage were cropping. I used the cropping tool to cut out unwanted things in my picture in order to improve my picture and have a main focus. This is very useful and important in order to display the photography element of simplicity. Another Photoshop tool I used is resizing my photos. This is important because if you didn’t resize your picture, then they all wouldn’t fit or you just might want them to be a certain size. The last tool that I used is changing the color of photos. This is both important and useful because if you put a picture in black and white, you may realize different elements of the picture rather than if it was in color. These are all basic and important tools of Photoshop.

Photography
Recently, we learned about different elements in photography. It is a very interesting topic to learn about, and it can help you with your photo taking skills. The first picture demonstrates the element of lines because the two bars are shown at an angle, therefore it makes the picture look a little more interesting. The next picture demonstrates the element of framing because the trees are framing the house and its not just a boring picture of a house. The last picture demonstrates simplicity. This is because it is a very simple picture of a cross and there is nothing around it so its easy to focus on one thing which is the cross.
